Victoria Ho(s)tel

Melbourne, Australia
Typology: Hospitality

Kurokawa noticed how quickly cities change, so he designed the Nakagin Capsule Tower with replaceable, upgradeable capsules to keep up. He saw cities as complex systems that evolve like multiplying bacteria. In this evolving urban landscape, there's a growing demand for temporary accommodation that combines the social aspects of a hostel with the quality of a high-end hotel. The Victoria Street Ho(s)tel meets this need with a variety of room types and fresh, modern interiors. Designed in collaboration with BB&B architects ,this project highlights the importance of architects staying updated with social and economic changes.
