The new kid on the block did not care about his neoclassical neighbours, instead of the bling-bling, the latter’s architecture prioritizes 3 important virtues for its users; light, natural ventilation and safety.
As soon as you step in, you are greeted by a double story void designed to maximized daylight intake in the living spaces and the solar chimney at the back draws the hot air out and enhances cross ventilation throughout the house. The semi-transparent stair in the void allows all the bathrooms to capture natural light and air. The street facade consists of anti robber/privacy screens to give the users of the house the flexibility of opening their windows at all times.
The protruded window reveals help to control solar heat gains on each south-facing window. All the way to the rooftop, a multi-functional space where you can enjoy with your friends while singing karaoke, provides a balance of green to this compact urban living.
